DESCRIPTION This 90 minutes long experience is exclusive to individuals or small groups who want to discover the essence of "The Way of the Tea", which is the 500 years old Japanese tea ceremony in private with a professional. You will be received by Laura and Alexander of MANDARACHA Tea House. Laura, originally from Italy, holds a degree in Japanese Language and Literature from Alma Mater Studiorum Bologna University. She has been living in Kyoto for 2 years and has been practicing her Tea Ceremony studies with two experienced tea masters. Alexander has been living in Japan for over 12 years and he spent the last 20 years studying teas in China, Taiwan and Japan as well as curating Japanese teas for his tea house. He is also learning Tea Ceremony from a renowned tea master in Kyoto. In an ideal setting that combines tradition and modernity, close to the Kenninji Zen Temple which saw the birth of Zen in Japan, you will get immersed in the traditional Japanese art of tea-making, deeply ingrained in the soul of Japanese culture We will provide the foundational knowledge to enter this enchanting art, enabling you to later appreciate a brief demonstration.
