Night visit to Tofukuji Temple's Komyoin Temple



Enjoy neo-classical arts with all five senses


After enjoying Japanese black tea prepared by MANDARACHA accompanied by a Wagashi Mooncake while looking at Komyoin Temple's garden "Hashintei",


MK Ethnopunk will play Shamisen and Shinami will perform original Kyogen.


The host will be Rakutabi's Ryo Wakamura. We will fascinate the audience with a wide variety of contents.

The main garden, Hashintei, which is nicknamed the "Rainbow Moss Temple" and shows a wonderful harmony of moss and sand, is a dry landscape garden created by Showa-era landscape designer Mirei Shigemori. You can enjoy the lit-up garden with commentary by Ryo Wakamura of "Rakutabi". You can also enjoy traditional performing arts performances by Shinami (Kyogen) and MK Ethnopunk (Shamisen). Tea by "Mandala Tea" from Miyagawa-cho is included.

- "Rakutabi" Wakamura Ryo (MC/Moderator) He has been involved in the tourism business specializing in Kyoto since his university days. In April 2006, he founded Rakutabi Co., Ltd., and is currently a Kyoto studies lecturer at various cultural courses, a lecturer at events, and an appearance on radio and television, promoting the charms of Kyoto.


・Shin'ami (creative kyogen) In Kyoto, he promotes "traditional performing arts from the Reiwa era" and creates new kyogen and dances based on themes such as Mt. Fuji, Amabie, fireworks, and other modern culture and works, in addition to classical repertoire. He also plays a role in connecting local and classical performing arts groups in various regions, and is working to train successors and discover new performers.


・MK Ethnopunk (shamisen) A folk music scholar, musician, and artist from Slovakia. His main instruments are the traditional instrument of his country, the huja, and the Japanese shamisen. He has performed with many musicians from around the world in Japan, India, Australia, and European countries.


・MANDARACHA (serves flower moon cakes and Japanese black tea) A tea shop cafe in Miyagawacho. A teahouse just a few minutes from Kenninji Temple, which was founded by Monk Eisai, who promoted tea cultivation in Japan. MANDARACHA is a tasteful teahouse that combines old and new Japanese architectural styles, such as Juraku walls, bamboo, washi paper, cedar, and Zen gardens. They serve tea made from carefully selected tea leaves from all over the country and Japanese sweets made from plants, and also hold events such as workshops and seminars. ​ MANDARACHA Representative: Nicolau Alexandre He founded Mandala Tea to spread the culture and charm of tea to the world. He is originally from Grenoble, France. He majored in chemistry. He specializes in innovation and open collaboration models.
